Este conjunto de desenhos dá corpo à temática da invisibilidade das mulheres operárias na luta pelos seus direitos em contexto laboral, social e familiar durante a I República Portuguesa.

Durante a inauguração o visitante participou e fez parte do desvelamento obra, ao escolher (ou não) trazer à superfície do rio do esquecimento os retratos destas mulheres, as filhas de Léthê.

Na mitologia grega, Léthê, filha da deusa da Discórdia, Eris, era a personificação do esquecimento, dando nome a um dos rios de Hades, cujas águas provocavam o apagamento da memória das vidas passadas a quem dele bebesse.

As filhas de Léthê, mulheres anónimas olvidadas da nossa História, emergem da superfície do papel para serem lembradas e reconhecidas, ainda que momentaneamente.

This set of drawings addresses the issue of the invisibility of women workers in the struggle for their rights in labor, in society and in the context of their families during the First Portuguese Republic.

During the inauguration, visitors took part in the unveiling of the work by choosing (or not) to bring the portraits of these women, the daughters of Léthê, back to the surface of the river of oblivion.

In Greek mythology, Léthê, daughter of the goddess of Discord, Eris, was the personification of forgetfulness, giving her name to one of the rivers of Hade, whose waters caused those who drank from it to forget their memories of past lives.

The daughters of Léthê, anonymous women forgotten in our history, emerge from the surface of the paper to be remembered and recognized, though only momentarily.
